Finally thought of something to say

So as I sit here on the 15th November 2023 , having almost forgotten it was my birthday (either that’s age creeping up on me or just having so many other things to think about - difficult to say). It came to me I should explain what has Photography given back to me.

To put it simply its given me a reason to go back out into the world and to start seeing things differently. To begin to see things that previously I didn’t take more than a passing glance at has been a revelation.

Who knew the variety of different insect life, or the different patterns in flowers, trees and leaves…who looks twice at the faces of people around them or the architecture that surrounds them ? Even just looking at the way light illuminates something at different times of the day or year is something that only Photography has given to me..

Photography isn’t necessarily a cheap hobby to indulge yourself in , especially if you try to keep up with the latest technology or follow some of the advice on Social Media, but with careful selection and some forethought it can be managed.

One thing I have come to realise is it is more about the experience of seeing the things around us and capturing moments than what those are captured on…
